Preparing Your Child for Preschool: More Christmas Shopping with LeapFrog.com

Okay, after making my last post, I ended up exploring the LeapFrog.com website a little bit more. If you have a LeapFrog My First LeapPad for your child, like the one pictured above, you will definitely want to checkout the LeapFrog.com website.

They have discounted most of their My First LeapPad books. Many of them are $3.90 each. This is a really great deal, as many usually retail for $10 to $14 each. Shipping is also cheap too. I just placed an order and I think I was charged $5.95 for shipping.

Preparing Your Child for Preschool: Christmas Shopping

Speaking of shopping for educational toys, I thought that I would share some nice sales that I came across online when doing my shopping.

Toys R Us

Toys R Us is currently having a free shipping deal on a large number of items in their online store. While you must purchase at least $49 of eligible free shipping toys, I still think that this is a great deal.

According to the Toys R Us website, this deal ends on December 25th 2007.

KB Toys

KB Toys also has a free shipping sale on select items. While the selection isn’t huge, there are still around 700 toys, I believe, that come with free shipping. From what I gather, there is no total purchase required to receive free shipping on these eligible items.

I also see that they have free shipping on select Polly Pocket, Barbie, and Little Mommy toys, when you spend $25 or more. This shipping discount ends November 19th 2007. I am not sure if I am looking in the wrong place, but I am unable to find an end date for the generalized shipping discount outlined above for KB Toys.

Preparing Your Child for Preschool: Shopping Tips

If you are like me, you may regularly be on the lookout for educational toys or other educational resources, like preschool workbooks or preschool reading books. If you use the internet, I have a few tips that may help you save money.

For starters, you may want to look into joining MyPoints. The website is located at www.mypoints.com. This is a program that enables you to earn points every time that you shop with particular retailers. Just a few of the retailers include Toys R Us, Overstock, and Barnes and Nobles. Your points can later be converted to gift cards. I love this program. I have received gift cards to K-Mart, Old Navy, and Barnes and Nobles.

Speaking of Barnes and Nobles, they are a great place to get preschool workbooks and preschool reading books from. For a small fee, $25 I believe, you can get discounted prices on all of their products. This adds up overtime. They also have free shipping when you send $25 or more.

I also use Overstock to shop for preschool workbooks, preschool reading books, as well as DVDs. They have great prices and normally a large selection of workbooks, movies, and books. They are also known for their low shipping fees, which can range anywhere from free to less than $3 and that is usually for your whole order!

Preparing Your Child for Preschool: Wal-Mart’s Back to School

I was in our local Wal-Mart on Friday and I noticed that they were starting to put out their back to school supplies. I love when this happens because you can get some great deals, especially on many of the items needed to prepare your child for preschool from home.

Not nearly everything that they will have was out for sale, but I was able to get a pack of RoseArt crayons for .12, RoseArt washable markers for .50, and one subject notebooks for .10. If you are interested in stocking up on preschool supplies, but without having to spend too much money, you may want to keep an eye on your local Wal-Mart and other retailers.

As a reminder, check out my new website, which I am working on finishing up soon. http://preparingyourchildforpreschool.com.
