Another great way to teach your child about money is by taking them shopping with you. If you pay for cash and if there isn’t a long line behind you, let your child pay the cashier.

This is an important lesson to teach your child. The first time my daughter learned this lesson, she left the store crying because she didn’t think we had anymore money left. If this happens to you, once again, explain the process of earning, saving, and spending money.

Encourage your child to save their money by placing it into their money bank. Let them know that they may be able to open their own savings account or even spend the money on a new toy at a later date.

If you are interested in preparing your child for preschool or kindergarten at home, one lesson that you will want to teach your child is about money. The good news is all of the options that you have for doing so.

For starters, show your child money. This is the first step in teaching them this important lesson. Coins should be easy to come across in your home, but also let your child see dollar bills.

Let your child play with the coins. You can even give them a few to hang on to. Every few days, quiz your child on the money that they have (like how many coins they have or how much money they have).
